A healthy outside starts from the inside.

Good afternoon

Yes afternoon, because it is 1.03 PM here in NH and I just woke up. I slept late last night which is not good for my body, especially with everything I planned to do today. I had less than 8 hours sleep so I will make sure I rest during the day.

I woke up thinking about taking my health seriously, and by that I mean, eating healthier and living a healthy lifestyle. As a public health science major, I have gained lots of knowledge about being healthy and my profession in future is to help prevent unhealthy lifestyles and risk of getting diseases. I finally decided to start working on myself. As we all know, it is hard so I am going to at least start living a healthy lifestyle by changing some bad habits I have and I believe I can do that although it is challenging.

My goal is to:

-          first try and lose the 7kg ( 15.4 Pounds) I gained the past 6 months

-          secondly, try and maintain my weight after losing the unwanted weigh

-          Be healthy, happy, and in good shape

I am very dehydrated and anytime I meet nurses, they would tell me that. I need to be sure to drink a glass of water, at least 2liters (67.6 oz.) a day. Since people often mistake thirst for hunger, you may find the craving to eat subsides, so I will be drinking before eating, my nurse said that it may help me.

It is important to know how many calories you actually need to maintain your weight. Many of us actually do not get enough calories. Our body therefore thinks we are starving it and as hard as we may try the pounds will not come off daily diet. I will have to get use to counting calories. Oh math in my life again.

Of course it is also important to eat accurate foods to be healthy. Fast food is off my list from now on until I reach my goal, then maybe once a week or month.

My first steps for 1 month is:

1.        10000 steps per day  Monday – Saturday

2.       Eat healthy

-          No sugary product soda, candies, etc.

-          No oil

-          No bread

-          No fast food

+     More water

+     More Veggies

+     More Fruits

3.       Gym 4 times a week

4.       Daily workout at home

5.       Get plenty of rest, sleep minimum 8 hours a night

I am starting today, no time to waste again. I am now working on writing down my meal plan and making a checklist. I guess weekly plan works better. I will need more option if you guys have any to share. Always good to have help and maybe I will be helpful to you too.

Because I am stubborn, and I know that, I will need to challenge myself. If I fail to eat healthy or do any planned activity, I will have to pay a fine of $20 for not fulfilling my requirement. And of course, to make if fun for myself, I will have to reward myself for being honest every week, by going for shopping or getting something I really wanted. I can’t wait to say I MADE IT.

My current weigh is 71 kg (156 pounds) and my goal is to weigh 64 kg (141pounds) with muscle mass as I was before.

Do you think I can make it?

Have a blessful day.
